Republican Humphrey announces his candidacy for Weld’s House District 48
Greeley, Colo. — Conservative marriage and family therapist Steve Humphreyof Severance, CO has declared his candidacy for House District 48.
“I will be a strong conservative voice for the people of Weld County” said Humphrey, “I look forward to rolling up my sleeves and working hard to earn the support of voters in House District 48.”
Humphrey, a military veteran and former police officer, currently serves as a Mental Health Counselor for the Laramie County Sheriff’s Department, providing substance abuse evaluation and referral services to inmates who need to overcome their addictions to stay out of jail and lead productive lives. He is also a licensed family and marriage therapist.
“Through my work, I have seen the stresses and hardships that Weld County families encounter in this economy,” said Humphrey “In order to get these moms and dads back to work we need to cut through the bureaucratic burdens placed on small business owners by bureaucrats in Denver.”
Humphrey added, “I’m committed to being a vocal advocate for the Republican ideals of personal liberty. I will fight for lower taxes, to shrink the size and scope of government, to promote individual liberty, to protect our state’s rights and to reduce the burdensome regulations on the oil and gas industry.”
Humphrey is a committed Christian who is unapologetic for his faith and won’t back down on social issues as some have said he should.
“I’m 100% Pro-Life and I will actively work to promote traditional family values.”
Humphrey and his wife of 16-years, Christine, enjoy raising their son David in Severance. The Humphrey family takes every opportunity to get outdoors and go hiking, biking, camping, canoeing, and snow shoeing.
The newly drawn House District 48 encompasses the towns of Severance, Johnstown, Miliken, parts of Windsor, western Greeley, Gilcrest and Platteville.
